Bath construction from blocks

When building a bathhouse from blocks, everyone needs to know some important features. In terms of its properties, foam blocks are much better for heat saving than other building materials. On the other hand, they are inferior in stiffness, therefore they are very risky in use for the construction of two or more floor buildings. It follows that the future bath, if we build it from the foam blocks, will definitely be one -story.

The plan for building a bathhouse building is drawn up at the rate of: the number of people at the same time, the total size of the building, the height of the walls and pieces for rooms, windows and doors, roofs with or without attic, as well as elements of heat conservation.

Before the construction, you need to make a list of all the necessary building materials, as well as equipment for the device of the bath (heating or water heating boiler, water supply and sewage pipes, electric cable, etc. p.). It is desirable that their supplier be one store or base of building materials-this will significantly reduce the cost of the building through transportation and loading and unloading.

So, the basis of any structure is the foundation. With the use of foam blocks, the time and resources for filling the foundation are significantly reduced: foam concrete blocks of significantly other materials, hence the physical size and depth of the foundation is almost 2 times less. However, it is better to make it whole. At the same time, do not forget that there must be a drainage layer between the foundation and masonry of the walls — this will increase the life of the future building.

The construction of the walls of the bath will take us a minimum of time, because the size of foam blocks is much larger than that, say, brick, and they are much easier to work. In addition, the solution at the junction of blocks freezes much faster, because concrete foam blocks have high water absorption.

Foam blocks, absorbing moisture, lose their physical properties, become loose, which means that our building has a chance to crumble under our own weight. This property of building foam blocks makes the following operations during the construction of a bath — external plaster, internal water protection and insulation.

External protective plaster of the walls is carried out with a standard construction cement mortar: 4 parts of sand, 1 part of cement and 1 part lime (instead of it, other protective mixtures for external use) are 1.5-3 cm in layer.

The internal water protection of the walls should be carried out based on whether we will be knocked out inside the bath inside (in particular lining) or not. If the walls of the baths in the future are covered with ceramic tiles, then this operation comes down to the primary plaster for laying the tile itself with the addition of water -repellent components or additives. If the walls of our bathhouse are closed by wood, then in primary plaster we add protective compositions against damp and fungus. In this case, it is necessary to produce a primer layer primer — this will give us both the best adhesion of tile glue and additional moisture protection of the walls.

In the same way, the method of insulation of our building will depend on what the walls will be in the future in the future.

Not important in the construction of a bath using foam blocks is the device of sewer systems and heating units. Sewage and water supply systems should be planned even at the stage of filling the foundation and carry out their installation at the second stage of the walls of the walls (the first stage of construction is the construction of the load -bearing corners of the building) — this is how we will save on grounds in the walls, their subsequent insulation and troubles with laying pipes in already finished building.

The heating unit is equipped during the installation of windows and doors in parallel with the installation of water supply and sewer systems. It is worth considering that when installing metal-plastic windows and doors, installation foam is used (it joins very well and penetrates the foam block).

We will also get additional protection of the walls from moisture when installing the ventilation system.

If you summarize, then we can say that, using foam concrete blocks in the construction of a bathhouse, you significantly save on building materials and the work of builders.
