When ensuring uninterrupted power supply at the facility, you should not rely only on centralized electric lines. Problems on it can occur in bad weather, which happens quite often. If you are interested in the continuity of the equipment, and for it to be regardless of external circumstances, then you must think about the acquisition of a diesel and generator installation. In this article, we will consider the design features of diesel generators, which are increasingly successful in the Russian market.
First, we consider some operational characteristics of this equipment. The power of the device and fuel consumption per unit time have a fairly wide range of values. For individual consumers, a 50 kW diesel generator will be more than sufficient, but for large objects, the power of up to 1 mv will be optimal. Of course, with such indicators, fuel consumption will also be different. Generators with slight power will consume several liters of fuel per hour, more powerful installations will spend from 50 liters or more. The expenses of the maintenance of diesel and generator equipment will not be significant, since this is still not the main source of power, but the backup.
The design of the generator is based on a diesel power apparatus in contact with a three — or single -phase generator. The motor and generating electricity device connects the shaft causing vibration with severe rotation. In this regard, depreciation frames are installed on most generators models that extinguish the vibration and do the operation of equipment better, plus to all this reduces the noise level.
Speaking of how noisy this technique is noisy, one cannot help but mention the casing, which also extinguish noise. They significantly reduce the level of strong sounds to 40-80 dB, but if the generator is in use within the city, then most manufacturers recommend giving a separate room for it. Of course, the technical room should also be equipped with sound insulation and be in the distance from residential buildings.
On modern diesel generators, a wide range sensors are installed, as well as control elements. They are necessary to track the work of the generator and the power unit, and in case of their breakdown, serious consequences may occur.
Diesel-generating installations can be used both in continuous operation and in the reserve use. In the second case, an important point is the time of the engine to reach the rated power and the time of its stop. As a rule, for stable operation, the installation requires about 15 seconds, and when stopping, the equipment operates at idle for a couple of minutes, gradually slowing down. The moments of turning on and off the generator are critical. Frequent inclusions and off can quickly use the installation resource, so it is recommended to run the generator only with a long absence of electricity.
