Products from a wood array are the most solid and reliable, this applies not only to furniture, but also to interior doors. A new canvas will cost considerable money, therefore, armed with a brush, we will restore existing wooden doors. Doors restoration will return them to the former chic.
Preparatory stage
Remove the door from the loops and put in a horizontal position. It will be inconvenient to bend to the floor, so it is better to lay the door on a stool. Make sure that the room is not too wet or cold — the climatic regime affects the quality of work with paintwork materials. Remove the fittings and take out the glass if it is. You can protect the glass with a film by gluing it with tape for the time of painting the door.
Remove the old coating
With a grinding machine, remove the old paint from the surface of the door leaf. You can use the heat -talent to soften the paint — then it can easily be removed by a spatula without scratching the wood. With sandpaper, remove the last remnants of the paint. If there are chips or cracks on the door, put them down, and then grind the surface again. We vacuum our door and wipe us with a damp cloth.
Before painting
To enhance adhesion of painting with wood, cover the door with a primer. The primer will also protect the door from accidental exposure to water or excessive humidity in the room. If varnish is chosen as a coating, we first process the door with a stain — tinting composition. This will make the natural ornament of wood more distinct and deep.
We paint the doors
Having chosen your favorite shade of paint, we take the brush and paint the phylenka and the protruding elements of the door. Then, using a small roller, apply the paint evenly throughout the canvas. For the formation of the maximum evenly coating, apply the paint with the second layer after the first. Varnish can be applied to 3-4 layers.
The final stage
Before inserting fittings and hang the door in place, wait a complete drying of the coating. There should be no drafts or high humidity in the room. On the packaging with paint or varnish, they usually write the number of hours required to dry the composition under the recommended temperature conditions.
Having restored the canvas, do not forget about the door box — you can do it similarly or disguise it under the wall covering. In any case, independent door design will cost cheaper than buying a new interior element of similar quality.
