Let’s continue the topic of trifles

Yesterday I wrote about a flexible water eyeliner. Today I will continue the theme of the little things. The hero of the new article is a corner. This is such a small shiny object with a pen, which is also hidden from the eyes. Its task is very simple: if necessary, this tap can be covered with water immediately before the mixer or toilet, without closing the supply of water completely to the entire room. In other words, if a problem arises and you need to change, for example, a mixer on the sink, there is no need to block the valve on the riser and leave the whole house or apartment without water. If your water supply was made by professionals and the budget was not very constrained, then corner taps should be installed in front of each water consumption point: in front of the mixer in the kitchen and on the washbasin, in front of the toilet, boiler, washing or dishwasher, etc. D. The tap is small but very necessary.

What danger can be in wait for us here? After all, we constantly do not use this tap, only in extreme cases. Just that we use it extremely rarely, and the main problem lies. Hardness salts dissolved in water settled on the metal details of the tap and, over time, seriously prevent the operation of a locking mechanism. This is especially affecting the taps overlapping hot water. With an increase in temperature, the process of settlement of salts is significantly accelerated.

Simply put, the pen turns with great effort and there is a danger of breakdown. This is only one of the reasons why these taps should be very stringent requirements:

1. strong brass body (the part is under constant pressure);

2. It is desirable, a metal pen (it is more difficult to break it);

3. durable thick brass stem (so as not to twist);

4. double ring seal of the rod (so that water does not proceed);

5. working pressure 16 atmospheres;

6. maximum operating temperature 80 degrees Celsius.

ARCO corner crane

The variant of the corner crane of the Spanish concern Arco with the Pokipa Protection System will be ideal. The “filling” of such a tap is made of polymer material with a Teflon coating (by the way, at the top of the left a photo of this particular model). Such a coating does not allow the salts of stiffness to settle on the surface and the tap will work “like a clock” for a very long time.

I agree, a person far from plumbing is difficult to figure out with all this. Yes, and it is not necessary if the water supply in your house serves a competent, sensible specialist. And if not? Then a wonderful phrase comes into force: if you want to do well, do it yourself.
